Summary

I live in California, and we’ve had more than our fare share of wildfires. I have friends who have lost their homes, and my family has had too many close calls for one lifetime.

I also take late-night 200+ mile trips pretty regularly between the Bay Area and my home town, where there are long stretches of just nothing.

And it’s earthquake territory.

Given that, I take emergency prep seriously. I’m not a prepper, but I do want to make sure I’m not totally screwed if something bad happens. So I keep a Go Bag by my door, loaded with supplies.

And I keep other supplies in the car, and at home.

I don’t have a good solution today for my digital life, aside from keeping a second iPhone in my go bag. There is a great write-up (see I’ve locked myself out of my digital life) on what can go wrong if you lose all access to your digital identity via lost passwords and two-factor auth tokens.

I have plans to improve much of this. So just take this page as the things I currently have, and know there are more things you’ll want to consider for your own emergency solutions.

With all that out of the way, here’s what I have.
